Accountant Guy Loveday, of PTP Ltd, speaking at Worcester workshop.

This first of a series of vital business finance workshops for 2011 gets under way in Worcester next week.

Finance expert Guy Loveday, a partner in the Professional Training Partnership, will brief members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants on the latest developments in financial reporting, at the first workshop on Wednesday (January 26) at Worcs Cricket Club’s County Ground. It will cover issues arising in preparing accounts for small and medium-sized companies in connection with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Celia Adams, chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Worcestershire, said: "This workshop is important to all who are responsible for company accounts, and those who advise them. He makes a brilliant job of bringing out the issues which he brings to life."

Mr Loveday, based in Solihull, specialises in Auditing and Financial Reporting updates for accountants in practice and industry, and in Finance courses for members of the wider financial community. He also provides a consultancy service to assist companies in preparing their annual financial statements.

Chartered Accountants from Worcestershire are also gearing up to support the first Worcester-based Business Game, in March, for local schools to build business links and career opportunities in the financial sector.

The lecture starts at 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm. Cost for attending is £31.00 ex VAT per lecture, with online bookings at www.icaew.com/westmidlands Further courses follow over February and March, covering tax issues, including tax planning for family companies.
